We love it here

We have been very lazy about getting back to this adventure site as we are having so much fun exploring and just enjoying life in Mazatlan. Sunsets here are amazing. We are currently trying to juggle many visitors from the great white north and are showing them around this beautiful city. Having a great time with everyone.

There are a lot of expats in their retirement years here, that are either full time residents or snowbirds, and they all want to hear good old rock and roll rather than the "banda" sounds of local musicians with tubas and drums that can be found on the beaches.

We like it so much here that we have arranged to go clean out our storage locker in Vancouver and bring the balance of our stuff to Mazatlan. We will soon visit the immigration office again to extend our residency by another 3 years. Out intent is to become permanent residents after that.

We have ventured away from the city to smaller towns in the vicinity and enjoyed seeing the "real" mexico and some of the artisans who work with ceramics and leather.

We also went to a tequila distillery - Los Osuna - where they make world class tequila using traditional methods from blue agave plants. Awesome stuff!
