Thoughts for 2017

Happy New Year!

Just a short simple post with some thoughts for 2017 that we are trying out best to live by....

We all have one time on this earth. Don’t wake up and realize that you are 60+ years old and haven’t done the things you dreamed about.

The most important person in your life is the person who agreed to share their life with you. Treat them as such. Yes, Cyndi is my Princess.

Stuff is just stuff. Get only what you need, and use what you need. Try not to treasure material objects - you can't take them with you when it's all over.

Embrace the time you have left and cherish life experiences. Be happy to wake up every day - even if you have aches and pains.

Years go by in the blink of an eye. Live your life. Go places. Do things. Create memories. If you have the means, or not. Pack a bag and go wherever you can afford to go. See the world. GO!

In times of turmoil and strife, try to grin and smirk at how ridiculous and crazy life can be. Don’t take life so seriously. Laugh.

Children grow up way too fast. Make the most of the time you have with them and include them in your adventures.

Nobody ever dies wishing they had worked more. Work hard, and work efficiently, but put family, friends, and yourself first.

Don't look back. Move forward to chase your dreams and have fun fulfilling them. Learn from the past and savour the good things, but always remember that the greatest adventure is what lies ahead. No one can go back in time and make a brand new beginning, but anyone can start now and make a brand new ending.

Make many deep friendships. Friends to share breakfast with, to laugh with and cry with when it's needed, friends who support your life goals and who believe in you. Most of all, make sure your very best friend is the person who has agreed to share their life with you.

Eat and exercise like you’re a diabetic heart patient with a stroke — so you never actually become one.

Don’t take advice from someone else as gospel. You can ask for advice from those who you respect, then make your own decisions.

Stay safe and don't do stupid things. The joints you damage in your body today will get their revenge later. Even if you think they’ve recovered completely. TRUST ME!

Appreciate the small things. Be present in the moment.

Pay your bills and stay out of debt.

If you have a dream that seems impossible, try to do it now anyway. It will only become more impossible as you get older.

Above all - Keep Smiling!
