Telephones and WIFI

Both of us have a phone that we purchased several years ago through a phone plan with Telus and they still work great. Good solid stainless steel LG android phones with a SIM card and separate mini photo file storage card. We checked with Telus and apparently they will give us the "unlock" sequence that we can use in Mexico when we get a new SIM card with our new Mexican service provider. Our new SIM card will allow us to pre-purchase telephone service minutes and then we can recharge or refill them when we need to - we buy more minutes of service time at the local OXXO stores (like a 7-11).

Our existing WIFI router will be coming with us along with our other personal effects so we can avoid the cost of a new one in Mexico. We just need to sign up with Telmex and get their modem for the internet service and then start up our router. In the meantime, we will try to rent a furnished place that comes with WIFI access so we don't have to get our own plan in place.
