Family in Alberta

We left Vancouver on July 22 and headed to Alberta to visit family and friends. We had some personal treasures and other things that needed to be dropped off with family members as we can't take them with us when we head south. We had a great time and spent some time at Cyndi's Mom and Dad's house and also at Cyndi's brother's place. Scott and Lori were wonderful hosts and had us over to dinner twice and gave us a grand tour at Heritage Park. Scott was very good at putting us to work in his yard and I ended up getting a blister on my hand from helping to place some landscape gravel on the side yard of his new house. While we were at Heritage Park, Mason and Logan enjoyed some amusement park rides and we all got to visit the animal farm and have some ice cream. :-)

Cyndi got together with some of her high school buddies (Linda, Lori, Laurie and Ann) and got caught up on the comings and goings over the past 30 years. I got to hear a bit of gossip about Cyndi - very fun! :-)

After a week in Calgary we headed north to have a "quick" visit with one of Cyndi's cousins - Kathy and her husband Doug - and they live in Wainwright.... it looks close on the map but took us 5 hours to get there from Calgary. Those Alberta roads are very long and very straight. Kathy and Doug just moved into their house and they love it! ... we loved it too. :-) We could only stay the one night as we had to head back to BC to attend another gathering of friends.... see next post....
